Artist's Description
The North American XB-70 Valkyrie was a prototype version of the planned B-70 nuclear strategic bomber.for the United States Air Force. The aircraft was designed in the late 1950's by North American Aviation. The six-engine, XB-70 Valkyrie, had the capability of cruising for thousands of miles at Mach while flying at 70,000 feet.
The XB-70 had a maximum speed of over 2000 mph (Mach 3.1) and a combat range of over 3000 mikes. Due to the changing role of the manned bomber in the USAF, the XB-70 program was cancelled in 1961.
This original XB-70 Aviation Caricature was created on May 23rd, 2020. It was created in black and white on Canson 11” x 14 drawing paper, with pen & Ink (and a slight wash).

Michael began drawing in the 3rd grade by creating "art" down the sides of his classwork (no doubt inspired by Mad Magazine) and continued to cultivate his art throughout his school years. At Charles A. Lindbergh High School (in Renton, Washington) Michael was introduced to the art of Pen & Ink by his Art...
