The Douglas DC-3 had a long lasting effect on the airline industry and as a workhorse for the allies during World War II. It was created as a larger, improved version of the Douglas DC-2. It was powered by two 1,200 hp Pratt & Whitney radial piston engines. It has a cruise speed of 207 mph,, capacity of 21 to 32 passengers or 6,000 lbs of cargo, with a range of 1,500 miles.
